Acknowledgements
The Project – Cultural Diversity: An Educational Advantage – has developed over a number of years and will conclude at the end of 2007. It is a genuine partnership between schools, funding bodies and Deakin University’s Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation.
The Project would like to acknowledge the support of the Australian Research Council's Linkage funding scheme (2004-07: project number LP0455056); the Scanlon Foundation for its commitment to the Project’s ideals and generous financial support (2004-07); The William Buckland Foundation and the Telstra Foundation for providing seeding grants towards the preliminary research and the Deakin University’s Central Research Grant schemes (2005 grant). The Project would also like to acknowledge the crucial support of the Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation and the contribution of Dr Lucas Walsh to the development of this website.
The Project also acknowledges the important partnership with Victorian Arabic Social Services (VASS) in facilitating community development and relationships with the schools. This was achieved through the work of the Cultural Diversity Facilitator who liaises between the Research Team, the schools and the parents. Finally, we gratefully express our sincere thanks to the schools’ leaders, the teachers and their students for embracing this Project and contributing to its progress and ongoing development.
