INTERVIEWER: Do you think that the Arabic parents are trying to communicate with the school?

ARABIC-SPEAKING BACKGROUND PARENT: Some would, probably a lot of them would, but the problem with the Arabic families is they have so much to do! Not just a lot of children, they have so many things to do! The majority of them don’t drive, some of them do, there is a lot of family issues, a lot of this, and I think they would like to. Some don’t speak pretty good English, some do, so there is a lot of… they would love to…

ARABIC BACKGROUND PARENT: I tell them [my daughters] always be active, in anything, any activity, to be there, to present the Arabic, because you have to be that. You can’t go hide and this, no, you have to be explaining, involving in all, everything, to prove that, you know, we are here and we are not really hiding, or running from responsibility, or something like that.
