Theme 3: Relationships at School
When entering a new educational environment, students and parents from Arabic-speaking backgrounds face a number of educational and cultural challenges. In this theme, students and teachers explore opportunities to find out more about the students' different cultural backgrounds. In combination with this, they also discuss their similarities and the factors which unite them. Students and parents from Arabic-speaking backgrounds, as well as teachers, also reflect on the roles of teachers within culturally diverse classroom settings. The responses were dependent upon their previous positive and negative experiences.
Given the range of perspectives illustrated within this theme, the resources provided may be helpful for students and teachers to learn more about each other.
